“Jamie was born to do this.”
“Your energy last night was contagious and resulted in huge numbers that will be translated into countless wishes! Thank you!
”
In 2016, I was asked to host and auction at a large and well established benefit in Upstate New York.
I said no.
The reason I said no was that, having been in finance for several years and attended such events, I knew how sensationally important and necessary it was to get these events ‘just right’. They take months of preparation and require a delicate judgement of the room on the night. As it happens, I did end up doing that event and not only did a lot of money get raised, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then I have raised money for hundreds of charities across the US and Europe:
UNICEF, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, The Boys and Girls Clubs, World of Children, Navy Seal Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Gabrielles’s Angel Foundation, The Joyce Theatre, The Vineyard Theatre, Dramatics Guild Foundation, New York Academy of Medicine and many many schools like Dwight, Lycee Francais du New York, Notre Dame, Rye Country Day, McGill, French American amongst others.
Fundraising can be a tricky business but I’m on hand to give you all the advice I can from my experiences and look forward to working together to beat your targets and, most importantly, making sure everyone (and then some) comes back next year.
If you would like me to host or fundraise at your event then please do get in touch for my rates by clicking here. I will also provide a list of references for you to contact too.

Often I am asked how I control the crowd, and the answer I usually give is that I make sure I am the most excited person in it; I’ve done the homework, I know the numbers, I bring the energy and then go for it.
It’s also critical to read the room, and these next videos show very different approaches given the audience set up.
An example of me finding 2 bidders keen for a week in Sardinia and then getting the crowd behind them to drive up the price to $50,000!
Some events are standing only and can prove to be some of the trickiest in terms of crowd control. You just need to lean into it…
(Do watch until then end.. it gets rather exciting.)
I don’t really believe in showreels as anyone can look good when fast edited so these are unedited deliberately.
